Design

Design: web design, brand identity, UI/UX and prototypes

One team that designs the work and builds it: web design, brand identity and logo, UI/UX and clickable prototypes. Design that can be built and is tied to conversion.

The problem

What gets in the way

At most agencies, design is a separate phase with a separate party.

  1. The design is beautiful, but not buildable

A design agency delivers a picture, the builder has to make it real, and halfway it turns out the animation can't be done or the page breaks on mobile. With us the same team tests the design against the technology while it's being made.

  2. Design for design's sake, not for the goal

A site that looks wonderful but moves nobody to book or buy is only pretty. With us mood and results weigh equally: the next step is always in view.

  3. A logo without the rest of it

You get a logo and a colour, and then have to work out yourself what that looks like on a button, a form or a whole app. We carry the identity through into every screen.

  4. The source files stay with the agency

Many agencies hold back the design files, so you have to come back for every change. With us you get the Figma files and the recorded style values.

How we look at it

One outfit hands over a pretty mockup, another has to build it, and what is left is a design that does not quite hold up in practice: animations that cannot be done, a layout that breaks on mobile, a button that leads nowhere. We do it from one hand. The same team that makes the design also builds it, so from the first sketch the design is already tested against what is technically possible and against what you want to achieve.

With us, design is not a picture handed over a wall, it is the design of a product that is actually going to run.

Our background

Why design and build are one team here

A design that looks great and then turns out to be unbuildable: the founders of TopDevs ran into it in earlier projects more often than they'd have liked. The design agency pointed at the developer, the developer pointed back, and the bill for sorting it out landed with the client.

Here the designer and the developer sit at the same table. A screen only gets signed off once it's clear how it will be built and what it costs, and you test a clickable prototype before any code is written. That keeps the budget where it was agreed.

Design systems and component libraries

A separate design per screen does not hold up once a product grows. That is when you want a design system: reusable components, fixed tokens for colour and typography, and rules that keep every new screen consistent on their own. So the design keeps holding up, even as the team grows and the product gains more screens.

  • Components and tokens as the baseWe set buttons, cards, forms and typography as reusable components with tokens underneath, so a change in one place carries through everywhere.
  • One visual base, configurable per clientOn one shared visual base you give each client or department its own setup, without a designer or developer getting involved. The system holds the consistency while the content differs per client.

From design to development

This is where we are different. On most projects one party designs and another builds, with a handover in between where things get lost: an animation that cannot be done, spacing that is just off, an interaction that turns out different in code. With us the same team designs and builds, so there is no gap between mockup and working product.

  • Design already tested against the techBecause the same people build it, we already know during the design what is possible and what is not. So there is no gap between design and engineering.
  • One party responsible for look and functionWe design and build the whole site, including the links to booking or payment systems, made so they feel like part of the site. One team holding both the look and the working in hand.

Design that converts

Beautiful is not enough. A design has to lead the visitor somewhere: book, buy, request a call. We design from that goal, so atmosphere and conversion strengthen each other.

  • Atmosphere that leads the visitor to the actionDesign and conversion carry equal weight: the branding sells the feeling, and the button to the next step is always in view. The design conveys your brand and lets the visitor take the next step without friction.
  • A site that sells the proposition fastA marketing site explains fast what your product does and leads the visitor to a purchase or enquiry, with the plans set out clearly side by side.
A design that actually converts? We are happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

What does web design or design cost?

It depends on the scope: a brand identity and logo is a different thing from a full app UI with a design system. We agree the price up front, before we start, so there is no open end. Because the same team also builds it, you do not pay twice for a design that has to be rebuilt later anyway. Want a ballpark for your idea? Book a call and we will work it out for you.

Do you also build the design, or do you only deliver the design?

Both are possible, but our strength is that we do both. The same team that makes the design also builds it in React, Astro or Flutter. That means the design is tested against what is technically possible from the first sketch, and there is no gap left between mockup and working product.

Do I get the design files in my own hands?

Yes. Just like with the code, we do not hold the design files behind lock and key. You get the Figma files and, if there is a design system, the tokens and components. So you can carry on yourself or with another team, without having to come back to us for every small change.

How long does a design project take?

A brand identity or a few screens is a matter of weeks; a full app UI with a clickable prototype and design system takes longer. We work in short rounds with wireframes and prototypes, so you see and click the design early and adjust before the build starts. The exact timeline depends on scope, which we agree up front.

Do you do branding from scratch or also a refresh?

Both. We build a brand identity and logo from the ground up if you have nothing yet, or we refresh an existing identity and carry it through consistently into your site and product. Sometimes we work within existing branding, sometimes we set up the visual language from scratch.

Do you take accessibility into account?

Yes. We design with enough contrast, readable typography, clear focus states and a structure that also works with keyboard and screen reader. Because the same team designs and builds it, that accessibility does not stay a good intention in the design, it actually lands in the code.
